THOUGHTFULLY ROOTED

Comfort with a sense of place.

Stay close to Kibale, meet people who know the area and discover how travel can support local livelihoods.

Close to your forest day

Approximately ten minutes by road from Kanyanchu, our location makes it convenient to explore the park and return for a meal or a restful afternoon.

Quiet, solar-powered stays

Solar energy reduces our dependence on carbon-intensive diesel generators and helps preserve the peaceful surroundings beside the rainforest and wetlands.

People at the heart

Friendly staff, local knowledge and personal attention bring a human connection to your time in Nkingo and Bigodi.

NATURE WALKS & COMMUNITY VISITS

Beyond the usual itinerary.

Explore the communities around Kibale and Magombe Wetland Sanctuary. Meet local hosts, learn about food and everyday life, enjoy storytelling and cultural performances, and discover handmade souvenirs.

Depending on your interests and local arrangements, visits can include villages, community projects, schools or other cultural experiences. Activities are arranged with local hosts and should respect their time, privacy and traditions.

The lodge supports organised community groups with a stated contribution of $10 per client, helping initiatives such as farming, tree nurseries, schools, health facilities and beekeeping.

A SHARED LANDSCAPE

Local livelihoods.
Long-term care.

Ngogo works with communities on organic coffee growing, beekeeping, vegetable growing and handcraft production. These links help create reasons to protect natural places while supporting the people who live beside them.

Our Responsible Travel and Tourism Policy encourages conservation, considerate travel and environmentally aware business practices. Staying with us helps sustain that work.

Naturefocus Travel’s approach also includes a voluntary conservation and community-development contribution. Ask the team how the stated 2% voluntary levy is applied to your particular itinerary.
